With its modern offices, magnificently located in the Old Port of Montreal, Averna’s corporate headquarters is a pleasant environment where people get the most out of life! Over 180 employees, including 118 engineers, share space on two floors at 87 Prince Street. The company is located near bicycle paths and equipped with a locker room and showers, so employees can bike or jog to work. In addition, with the many restaurants and bars in the vicinity, it’s difficult to resist the appeal of an after-hours get-together!
The Montreal Engineering team focuses on the mechanical and electrical design and integration of test stations, which includes software development (LabVIEW, NI TestStand, RF, etc.) and integration for each station. Montreal is also the location of the Research and Development team, the Experts Onsite team (C++/C#, software validation, etc.) and most corporate services (Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, etc.).
With its large francophone population and rich historical heritage, Montreal has a European flavor, reminiscent of Paris, Madrid and Barcelona. As a Canadian city, it also has many remnants of the British Empire, but its French roots explain the vigor of its film, entertainment, music and publishing industries, just like in France and India! Montreal also has a very American side: it reminds you of Boston with its architecture, its suburban neighborhoods and its student population, New York with its restaurants and nightlife, and San Francisco with its lifestyle and the proximity of nature. It’s not surprising that the Lonely Planet travel guide ranked it among the world’s 10 most interesting cities, particularly for its art of living.
Averna’s US headquarters are located in Atlanta, where we opened the office in November 2009. Our facilities feature an RF and FPGA Innovation Lab and our team includes 15 engineering professionals, mainly specializing in LabVIEW, NI TestStand, FPGAs and DOCSIS. In addition, since several of our customers are in the defense sector, this team works on many ITAR projects. Our Atlanta colleagues are also passionate about physical fitness: the vast majority of the team participates in CrossFit training in the gym near the office.

Averna’s activities in Guadalajara are constantly gaining scope. The Mexico office, which opened in 2010 with 4 software developers, 1 mechatronics engineer and 4 certified LabVIEW developers, now has over 50 employees, including about 20 engineers. The Mexican team is very strong in robotics and testing for the automobile industry (wheel-speed sensors, ECUs, etc.) and for its build-to-print test station capacity.
To keep the Averna spirit alive before, during or after working hours, our Mexican employees love to play soccer and Gotcha (paintball) and organize barbecues, an ideal activity to take advantage of the region’s beautiful weather.
This is Mexico’s second biggest city and undeniably the most important for the electronics sector. Thanks to this industry, Guadalajara has become a university city of excellence.
The Japan office opened in 2010, located in a business center in the heart of Yokohama. With a small team specializing in sales and customer support, this office connects with our partners and customers throughout Asia.
Japan’s second biggest city, located in the Greater Tokyo region with almost 3.7 million inhabitants, Yokohama has a strong economy due to its many companies in the marine, biotechnology and high-tech sectors (Hitachi, Toshiba, etc.). Yokohama developed rapidly due to its port, which was one of the first gateways to Japan over 150 years ago.
To ensure proximity with our global partners and customers, we have about 10 employees who contribute to Averna’s commercial activities in Asia (China, South Korea and Taiwan) and the United States (Texas, Arizona and California).
